For the rubric of History of Formula 1 today we remember the extraordinary existence of Bruce mclaren, pilot from great talent and founder of the note stable of the same name.
The origins of a dual talent
Bruce Leslie McLaren born on August 30th 1937 in Auckland, IN New Zealand. Bruce immediately shows genuineness interest to the racing world who will become great talent Then. Interest further nourished by the teachings of Father Les, pilot di motorbikes and racing cars.
In 1946, at the age of nine, Bruce discovers he has the Perthes disease. Due to this problem, the New Zealand rider's left leg will remain shorter than the right. The rise of Bruce McLaren's talent
In 1958, the Australian pilot --Jack Brabham note the great performance of the twenty-one year old Bruce and invites him to run for him. The organization of the New Zealand International Grand Prix then selected him for the program Drivers to Europe. This program was aimed at giving the most promising local pilots theopportunity to gain experience at an international level. With Cooper, McLaren won the 1959 United States Grand Prix, joining the ranks of the youngest GP winners of all time.
In 1960, Brabham leaves Cooper to create the own stable and so McLaren becomes the first driver of cooper. Bruce McLaren then follows the same entrepreneurial project as Brabham in 1964, if desired become a builder in turn. He thus created a sports car based on the Cooper. It's actually one Converted Cooper F1, the famous Zerex Special. This car's palmarès includes the performance of Roger Penske, who had dominated a Laguna Seca and Riverside in the autumn of 1962.
The pinnacle: the driver-builder
In 1966, Bruce McLaren ends the relationship with Cooper and presents his first F1 car, an M2A to Ford Indy engine. That year he also acquires one considerable engineering experience contributing to development of Ford GT40. With this car and his compatriot and Can-Am teammate, Chris Ammon, will win a Le Mans in 1966. In 1968, wins his fourth career race with his single-seater Spa-Francorchamps, obtaining the first victory for the team in a Grand Prix of F1.

Le McLaren excel in terms of reliability, and this translates into race and championship victories. Bruce then valuable insights, like the “nostrils” which will become a feature of its cars, including the P1 road model.
Bruce mclaren dies tragically the 2 Jun 1970, at only 32 years old, in an iaccident during testing of his new M8D a Goodwood, in England. From cheerful character and well liked by many, who often remember him for his modesty and determination. He rests today in Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland.
