There is trust in Alfa Romeo. Among the various elements that work now there is above all that of having a competitive car but above all a team leader, arrived from a divorce with Mercedes which brought him back to life: Valtteri Bottas.
Constant, but not too aggressive, Bottas he is the same driver as last year but this year he shows more confidence by managing to extract 100% from his car. Moved from Mercedes atAlfa Romeo in 2022, Valtteri obtained excellent results in the first 4 races of the season, raising the expectations of the entire team which, now, is betting precisely on the Finn to conquer the Top 5.
Further confirmation is being sought in Miami
In this first phase of the season, getting more points is essential. L'Alfa Romeo he has 25, and 24 of these were brought right from Valtteri who believes that just a Miami, thanks to the uncertainty shared by all the teams and riders, there could be an opportunity to collect many and continue this positive trend. “I am happy that I can run to Miami. I've been appreciating the atmosphere for a few days already and I'm sure it will be an amazing show. The track would present good overtaking opportunities and the potential for an entertaining race is there. We know of to have another good weekend: we want to continue this positive moment". There is a growing sense of confidence in the team, we know we can do well on every track and we have what it takes to go out there and give our all”.
A good basic project
Everything comes from goodness of the Alfa Romeo C42 project, a single-seater that has managed to get excellent results on every track at the moment, last of all the one at Imola where Valtteri conquered the Top 5 for the first time this season despite some more problems in the pits. The team compared to others does not even suffer so much from the phenomenon of pouring, and this is precisely due to the new project of the C42, which allows it not to be affected too much by variations from the ground and therefore not jeopardize performance. A trick that could have brought benefits and what a difference theAlfa Romeo laid down by the Ferrari and Haas, i.e. the two teams that mount Power Units Ferrari, lies in the choice to opt for a push rod suspension system both at the front and at the rear.
The comparison with Zhou
The missing point in the constructors' standings was won at the first race of the season Guanyu-Zhou, the Chinese rookie, who, although in his first season in Formula 1 he's not disappointing expectations, always placing himself close to the points zone. "Miami it's a good opportunity to get back on track and continue our good work - Said Zhou - I'm happy with the progress I've made so far and I want to keep growing to bring home more points. I've been close to the top-10 in most of the races so far, so we're heading in the right direction. I'm not in a hurry and I know I have to keep working hard, then the results will come. The track of Miami it is, of course, new to me, although I have tried it in the simulator. However, it is for everyone so, from this point of view, I'm leaving for the first time on the same level as everyone else. As always, we will need to maximize each session leading up to qualifying, making sure we get the most out of our car. I am confident that we can have a good result this weekend.”
