These are not easy days at Ferrari. The Maranello team is in fact located in facing a very hot summer break for how this season is unfolding. The, impossible not to define so, defeat in Hungary has a little cut off the team's legs, Leclerc in particular. For the Monegasque the situation is increasingly complex, with the world championship that seems to be more and more distant.
Binotto: "We were unlucky"
The ko in Bucharest, however, makes you think a lot on big occasions which, first due to the fault of the team, then due to some mistake by Leclerc, Ferrari lost. Among the main culprits, the finger comes aimed at Matthias binotto. Ferrari team principal is at the center of much criticism for the handling of many races, on which, however, in an interview exclusive released to Motorsport.com Italy, he has declared.
“First of all, I believe there is always a way to improve, you can't be perfect and you never will be. Races like Monaco, Silverstone or Paul Ricard have been judged to be problematic on this front, but I don't see the group as a problem, because I think we have also made the right decisions. I'm not convinced what we did was wrong, I think we made what were the right decisions at the time they were made, and sometimes they turned out to be unfortunate, not wrong."

Difficulties
A clearly not easy situation, as is the role of the team principal after all. Binotto knows this and, when asked by Roberto Chinchero about how difficult it is to fill his role, he replies:
“Every single day. I think it was not an easy journey that I started in 2019, when I was appointed team principal. We have gone through 2020, a very difficult period, and even though we are fighting for the highest goals, we have experienced races in which we have not been able to obtain what the single-seater would have allowed for. So it's not easy. But I can say that I'm happy in my role, I'm happy because I know I have a great team, very united. And it's nice to see how everyone works together."

Ready developments
It's not over yet. There Ferrari in fact, he wants to start the second part of the season in the best possible way and for these reasons prepare new updates: "Yes, we expect developments on the hybrid before the freeze period starts – admitted Binotto – we are working on it, but it will not be a turning point".
