Ferrari's 2022 season has undoubtedly started with a bang. Out of 88 points available, the Maranello team brought home 78, thanks to a one-two in Bahrain and second and third place finishes by Leclerc and Sainz in Jeddah. Many thought so: the 2022 season was supposed to be the year of Ferrari's comeback. Expectations for now fully confirmed for a project which, as reported by Binotto to the microphones of Bild, has been in Maranello for quite some time: “It wasn't just winter. A project this big takes years. We knew we had prepared well this season and worked hard as a team. But of course we couldn't expect such a good result in the first race, we believed there were very strong teams right away. We know what we have to focus on in the coming months, i.e. the developments, the key in the second part of the championship. We are ready to fight in every race to maintain this level of performance, we believe last year's world champions are still the favourites.".
Binotto: "You have to be proud"
But, with this car, what is the ambition of the Reds? Binotto reflects and replies as follows: “Jeddah didn't end the way we wanted, but we saw a great show between Leclerc and Verstappen. In the first two races we scored 78 points out of a possible 88, it's definitely a significant number to be proud of. We are now in a good position to be able to compete for victories in every race.”
