The news that caused the most sensation in the paddock in recent weeks was certainly the one concerning Andretti. The American giant, in fact, has reached an agreement with FIA to create a team with which to participate in the highest category of motorsport. After a year of negotiations, the American company together with Cadillac she managed to convince the Federation. What caused the most sensation is the position taken of the Geneva company towards the FOM, a company founded by Bernie Ecclestone in 1981 and who manages the section showmanship of F1. The FIA has in fact approved the entry of the American team without consulting the London company. The decision would have been commanded by the president of the Federation, the Arab rally legend Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The 12-time winner of the Jordan Rally has given his opinion on what it is the problem of this Formula 1, i.e. the too many races. The idea of F1 “perfect” for Ben Sulayem would be with at least 12 stables; in fact, the ban that Sulayem would like to propose would serve to find the twelfth stable.
The Arab president speaks clearly: "Fewer races, more teams"
All this was explained in a recent interview with the agency Reuters: “Saying no to a team whose candidacy has been approved by the FIA is very difficult. You can call me an optimist, I always am. I think so, that Andretti will prevail. The FIA should ask, beg, car manufacturers to enter Formula 1 – continued the president – we shouldn't tell them no. If you want me to tell you what my dream is, it is to fill the 12 spots, have a team from a US manufacturer, as well as a power unit and a driver from there. Then maybe go to China and ask and do the same thing."

What blocks everything are... the pits
The idea, in general, could be well accepted by both parties involved. However, what mainly worries the Formula One Group is the space in the pitlane. In some circuits, in fact, it would be very complicated to place 24 garage. Ben Sulayem also spoke on this, making it known that his ideal calendar would consist of fewer races: “The circuits should have enough garage and space for 12 teams. I think, rather, that it is the races that are too many and not the teams. We need more teams and fewer competitions. The teams are looking at the piece of the pie, I understand their fears but ours are different."
