We have had our eyes glued to the new Aston Martin ever since pre-season testing in 2023. We re-pasted them last Sunday March 5th when we reviewed Fernando Alonso on the podium. A surprising Aston Martin, compared to last year's performance. An Aston that captivates, making us curious. And that makes us want to investigate the evolution of the project.
Aston Martin: theannus horribilis 2022
The Aston Martin team, or should I say the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team, comes from a somewhat disappointing 2022. The performances of the two cars, instead of improving compared to the particular 2021 season, had worsened. He knows something Sebastian Vettel who, frustrated by years of futile fights for fifth, sixth, seventh and other world titles, has decided to retire. Certainly his requests to enjoy his family more and the dream of dedicating himself to more and more projects for the environment also had an influence, but the weight of the unsuccessful two-year period in AM cannot be denied.
Aston Martin: the progress of 2023
"In two thousand twenty-three-twenty-three / my heart will beat among the stars / but it will be a machine that / will make it beat faster than you…” Caterina Caselli sang in 1970. The title of the song is 2023, naturally. And 2023 is the year in which Aston Martin with its car made us fall in love more than anyone else… we must therefore give another number: 2,4.
2,4 as the seconds that Aston Martin has recovered compared to last year, an amazing recovery that has led us to consider the AM as the second power this season. And that has postponed the hopes of Ferrari fans of winning a world championship for another year (or two years?).

It is true that we are only at the beginning, that new developments have to come. It is also true that the management of many things at Ferrari has changed, but at the moment Aston Martin remains the team that has made the most progress in 2023.
The controversy over Aston Martin's breakthrough: how was it possible?
In these days people are doing nothing but commenting on the words of Helmut Marko and Sergio Pérez, who joked saying that on the podium there were three Red Bull. Where does this consideration come from? It must be taken into account that in Aston Martin have landed former Red Bull engineers, with fifteen years of experience in Milton Keynes.
Then there is Toto Wolff who has not spared himself from defining the new Aston: “A half Mercedes“, in reference to the similarities of the rear end and the wind tunnel.

Nando's changes, Stroll's miracle
Nando seems to have put his own into it. Rumor has it that he's changed his diet and altered his workout plans - they seem to be working great! The forty-two-year-old Asturian appears far from wanting to retire definitively from Formula 1.
And, last but not least, one cannot fail to mention the Stroll's miracle. A week before the tests in Bahrain, as well as two before the race, the Canadian driver suffered the fracture of both wrists, one of which was dislocated, and of the left big toe while he was training… right in Spain. However, as demonstrated in a video that is circulating on Stroll's social networks these days, the Canadian seems to be recovering well. And again I am the sweat, the love for Formula 1 and the effort put into the recovery led by a skilled osteopath to have been decisive. A recovery for which he is very grateful. A recovery that Stroll particularly cares about, given that there is a beautiful Aston to drive.
