The question power units 2026 has been at the center of the scene in Formula 1 for a few months. The constructors who have entered for that season are: Classic Ferrari for sale, Mercedes, Red Bull Powertrains, Renault, Audi and Honda.
Japan meets England: we are in the final stages
The news that caused the most sensation was the fact that Honda had applied to supply their PU to the stables. In fact, there are very few teams that had not confirmed a partnership with an engine manufacturer. Among these, the Japanese house seems to have chosen Aston Martin. The two companies, according to the online newspaper The Race, they would be at the “final sprint”, with the real and own accord which should be out in the next few weeks.
The eastern giant will still have to respect the agreement made with Red Bull up to 2025. Some engineers are and will be fundamental for the construction of the engines that drive the cars of the Milton Keynes team, which from 2026 will definitively detach itself from the Asian world to join the one Rainforest, precisely with Ford. So even if actually the name will be Red Bull Power Trains (o RBPT extension) and the headquarters will be in the factories of the English town, the mechanics will be joined by those of the American giant.

From the dark years with McLaren to the revenge thanks to Red Bull
Honda's recent history is well known. The years of collaboration with McLaren they have been a lot difficult. The engine did not perform in terms of pure speed and reliability (the multiple withdrawals of those seasons speak for themselves). After the break with the British team, the turning point: the announcement of the partnership with Alpha tauri. From that moment, the results begin to improve. The Red Bull, which owns the Faenza team, notices this. The following year the contract is signed. The excellent progress shown in the two-year period 2019-2020 will then lead to Max's first world title.
