The acceleration given by the FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem for the possibility of bring in some new team in Formula 1 has led to further developments, one of which has just been announced. We are talking about AndrettiGlobal, the potential team captained by Michael Andretti. The latter has just announced on social networks a strategic partnership with Cadillac to aim for entry into Formula 1 from 2026.

The news shouldn't come as much of a surprise. In Andretti's first attempt, many of the representatives of the teams already present had set the condition of adding a new engineer. The American team now satisfies this condition, thus covering all possible boxes to be accepted into the Circus.
The expression of interest, which Ben Sulayem had spoken about some time ago, is a sort of plan to indicate to Formula 1 that a team can enter the Circus the following year. With the creation of the new Andretti headquarters and with the partnership, the team is showing itself increasingly ready to land in Formula 1. Of course, this collaboration does not guarantee Andretti a slot on the grid, but it certainly provides one more chance.
In the press release, it is clear that Andretti Global will be based in the United States, while the United Kingdom will host a strategic base. Furthermore, if the team is accepted, one of the drivers will certainly be American.
Ben Sulayem: "I welcome the news of Andretti's partnership"
On social media, FIA President Ben Sulayem tweeted his appreciation of the news: "I welcome the news of Cadillac's partnership with Andretti, and the FIA looks forward to further discussions on the Expression of Interest process for the Formula 1 World Championship.".
Although the comment may seem cold, the news carries extremely important weight. Indeed, the American outfit ticks many of the necessary boxes and Ben Sulayem has recognized this. We'll see if there are other teams interested, or if Andretti can follow in the footsteps of Haas and enter the Circus of Formula 1 starting from 2024.
