If last year the technicians of the Formula 1 teams had to design the single-seaters starting from a blank sheet, this year life has been relatively easier. The changes to the regulation are not radical, however, even small changes can hide pitfalls for engineers' pencils. Everything seems to be going smoothly for AlphaTauri, which just under fifty days from the start of the world championship, receives the endorsement of the FIA for having passed the chassis crash test.
AlphaTauri and the need for redemption
The presentation of the AT04 is upon us. The Faenza arrow will unveil after Red Bull e Williams. The Romagna team desperately needs to return to where it deserves, after the disappointing ninth place in the constructors' championship for 2022. In 2021 the result was much better: sixth place. If it is up to the team to take care of the creation of the vehicle, it is up to the pilot to bring home the result. That's where the ace up the sleeve of the Red Bull satellite team could be: in the line up.
AlphaTauri chooses to bet on Yuki tsunoda, who certainly didn't have a year to throw away in 2022, demonstrating adaptability and getting close to a thick rider like Gasly; but above all, on Nick De Vries. The Dutchman amazed at his debut at Monza, immediately scoring points. The Formula E champion can make the difference in a mid-table team, and consultant Helmut Marko knows it, so much so that he has chosen him as the man to bet on despite not coming from the Red Bull academy.

Crash test passed, the AT04 is almost ready
The crash test is not the last step when creating a car, but it is certainly synonymous with getting close to the finish line. Haas also passed the chassis homologation test. The American team can prove to be an insidious rival of the team from Faenza, being able to bet on an experienced line-up and on the optimism inherited from a better 2022 than 2021. Haas is just one of many potential rivals of Alpha Tauri, but if the white and blue team manages to embark on a better development path than last year, they will certainly be able to bring home some satisfaction.
