In the crazy yet wonderful qualifying of Canada, pole position rips it off Max Verstappen which concludes in front at the Alpine by Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari di Sainz.
Alonso, what a weekend!
MVP of the day, and there's no doubt about this, for Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard put all his experience on the track in the rain to bring home an unprecedented front row! There is certainly a lot of emotion, as well as Fernando's desire to do something important tomorrow, which would mean a great finish to a weekend that undoubtedly saw him as the protagonist.
Mister constancy
In fact, it should be underlined that the two-time world champion proved to be, between yesterday's free practice and today's qualifying, the most consistent driver on the track. Always in the top five, with the highest placement achieved during qualifying.
Alonso: "Magical feeling"
So tomorrow Alonso knows that you mustn't be wrong. The Spaniard therefore studies the start, which he considers the cornerstone of his race: “Great feeling, it was an incredible weekend for us. We were competitive in free practice and it's normal for us on Fridays, but we always lose pace on Saturdays. Today, however, thanks to the wet conditions, the car was exceptional. I found myself super comfortable behind the wheel and the fans pushed me to give even more. Tomorrow? We will attack Max at the first corner".
