After the last grand prix held in Canada, we witnessed another extraordinary performance of the now 41 year old Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard collected another second, an unexpected placing at the beginning of the season even for the most optimistic fans of the driver Aston Martin.
Alonso doesn't want to stop and aims for second place
The progress of the championship is already written: at least at the moment, Max Verstappen seems unbeatable. And we can't say it's just because of the car he drives, because the RB19 in Perez's hands doesn't prove to be the same as the Dutchman's. The results are evident: the Mexican has just returned from a month in which - since Miami - he has no longer seen the podium. Precisely for this reason, the #14 Aston Martin can seriously Aim high. Again in the last 3 events, Nando has recovered 21 points about Mexican. In the drivers' standings, he is alone 9 lengths by the Red Bull driver. During the press conference, Alonso confirmed his desire to fight for second place this season in a concise and synthetic way. His response, in fact, was a dry and concise: "Yes".

Red Bull never first or second, not even in 2013
After this, as far as we have seen so far, the Milton Keynes team's most dominant year was 2013, when he was there to drive Sebastian Vettel. In that year, the German also set the record for consecutive victories (9). Even with one of the best cars ever built, Red Bull couldn't finish first and second in the drivers' championship. Obviously, in this year you will want to try to dispel this taboo to conclude a season that began in spectacular fashion. There are two problems that would complicate this objective: a poor performance of Perez and an even more incredible season from Fernando Alonso.
