The Faenza team is close to a revolution. In fact, it seems that what they hoped for at Red Bull has not come true, and that this will inevitably lead to important changes. To understand what is happening at AlphaTauri we need to look back at the team's last years.
A team that likes change
The name change already occurred in 2019, going from the Italian name Toro Rosso to Alpha Tauri. This rebranding had it aim of making great publicity for the AlphaTauri fashion brand which would have acted as the main sponsor of the Romagna team. This did not go as hoped. The results of the last year and a half have been disappointing, and the AlphaTauri brand is also making a loss. All this would add to the costs involved stay in F1.
This is why Helmut Marko declared to the Austrian Kleine Zeitung that from next year there will be new sponsors and a new name. AlphaTauri, as we know it per se, will no longer exist. But this is not the only news. As already announced, the Faenza team will have two new leaders – Laurent mekies and Peter Bayer – and it is not known whether the duo formed by De Vries and Tsunoda will still exist next year.
A Red Bull-centric team
One of the conditions that perhaps had the greatest influence on AlphaTauri's performance is the fact that it wanted to separate from the parent company, Red Bull. In fact, in recent years the Italian team has begun to independently design more and more components of the car, moving away from the Red Bull project. For Marko it's not going well at all, here are his unequivocal words: “AlphaTauri's path is clear: follow Red Bull Racing to the extent that the regulations allow. Designing on your own is not the right path"
Furthermore, the Faenza team should move to the United Kingdom.

Is the future of pilots at risk?
With all these changes one wonders, will pilots continue to have a contract? According to the Red Bull advisor, there are currently no negotiations for the split of any contract.
Although rumors of a certain dissatisfaction with the performance of rookie Nyck De Vries have been around for some time, the name of Lawson as a possible replacement is whispered in the corridors, but Marko holds back and simply replies "We are not satisfied with him, we are evaluating".
