The new preparatory electric series, announced during theHyderabad E-Prix in India, it will be a sort of launch pad for young talents, including drivers and engineers, to enter the world of motorsport. An affordable championship, with cars similar in performance to Formula E Gen2 vehicles.
How will it be structured?o
The new championship, founded by former Mahindra Racing CEO Dilbagh Gill, is expected to take place in a regional format at circuits around the world. Circuits in areas currently under-represented in existing categories. The ACE Series will launch in 2024. There will be two tiers in the ACE Championship: a top tier 'Championship' and a lower tier 'Challenger Series'. One of the most unique features of the series, because it's not customary in motorsport, is that the same cars will be used for both levels. Albeit with different powers. The Gen2 Formula E car had a maximum power output of 250 kW (335 bhp) with a top speed of around 174 mph. Each team will therefore have 4 riders available, two per level.
Formula E and Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag will join the advisory board. While former Mahindra Formula E driver Nick Heidfeld will reunite with Gill in the role of development driver and series development advisor.
"When Dilbagh told me about this program, I was immediately interestedo. A junior electric racing championship had never been done before”Heidfeld said. “We want the ACE championship to be fair and affordable and to attract youngsters to the series from all regions of the world to make the step into motorsport."

Gill: “we will dare, we will be different and we will be digital”
“The ACE Championship is about motorsport innovation and opportunityGill commented. “We are looking to the ACE Championship to provide representation to people interested in driving and engineers around the world who have not had the opportunity to date and give them a chance to move up the ranks."
"The core of ACE Championship is to provide technology, opportunity and a platform to excel. It will be the first championship in the world in which a single racing car can compete in two different championships: each team can have two different drivers in the ACE Championship and ACE Challenger series, driving the same car, but with two different power levels. We are offering a path to our drivers in the ACE Championship, at low cost, but with high performance.”
