Even our home Grand Prix is consigned to the archives with the victory, indeed the dominance, of Red Bull which wins thanks to Max Verstappen. The Dutchman finished ahead of teammate Sergio Perez and Norris' McLaren. A weekend totally dominated by the Austrian team which scores points on a Ferrari which is clearly defeated. The Maranello team does not go beyond sixth place with Leclerc, following an error at the Variante Alta of the Monegasque. Little to do also for Sainz who was forced to retire after being rear-ended by Ricciardo. Surprises and disappointments in the top ten of the Emilia Romagna and Made in Italy GP. Let's discover the scorecards together:
Max Verstappen
Little to say and to say. The Dutchman's race, as well as the weekend that began with qualifying on Friday, was flawless. First position and second place achieved in the drivers' standings. Vote 10.
Sergio Perez
A super solid race from the Mexican. He risks a little in the moment of defense on Leclerc, in which he thanks the absence of the DRS. After the seventh place in qualifying, he succeeds in an excellent sprint and in a super solid race. The updates on the RB18 have made themselves felt. Grade 8.
Lando Norris
From Melbourne we saw a different McLaren. There are still some difficulties with the car, but we are moving towards the right path. Norris is good at not overdoing it and not making mistakes. Rating 8.5.
George Russell
Incredible performance by the British driver. At Mercedes it continues to rain in the wet, the problems on the W13 undoubtedly persist; Russell does what he can and succeeds in a great overtaking on Magnussen and to resist the attacks of Bottas in the final. It is he who brings the Mercedes brand to the top. Rating 8.5.
Valtteri Bottas
Stratospheric performance of the Finn. His start to the season is truly to be framed. Undoubtedly thanks also to the car, but the former Mercedes is in top form and, even for top drivers, he always becomes an awkward opponent to overcome. Grade 9.
Charles Leclerc
A match to forget for the Monegasque. The mistake weighs heavily and, due to the progress of the race, was absolutely to be avoided. Too much enthusiasm at a time when, as he himself declared, better than third place could not be conquered. The Ferrari sixteen won't take too long to redeem himself, but today was truly a day to forget. Rating 4.5.
Yuki tsunoda
Finally Alpha, finally Yuki! In the home Grand Prix, AlphaTauri returns to the points with a great comeback by Tsunoda. Often at the center of the action, the Japanese with great lucidity brings home points that are very important for him and for the team. Grade 7.
Sebastian Vettel
After the good qualifying, he had sinned in the Sprint, still showing the enormous difficulties of the Aston Martin in the dry. There is undoubtedly work to be done, because the conditions have greatly benefited the British team and Seb, who with the right lucidity takes home the first points of the season. Rating 7.5.
Kevin Magnussen
The intermediate tires suffer a bit in the first part of the race and lose a couple of positions. Despite everything, he managed an excellent defense on Russell for a good part of the race, concluding his GP with great management and in the points. Grade 7.
Lance stroll
He closes the top ten of the Grand Prix and enters the Aston Martin party. For the first time in the points, the Englishman takes advantage of a great start and a good pace to bring home a point that could perhaps be a recovery in view of a start to forget. Rating 6.5.
