La F1 is preparing to turn the page. In 2025, for the first time, all the teams will unveil their new cars in a single large presentation ceremony in London, scheduled for February 18 between 20pm and 22pm. The occasion will be historic: celebrating the 75th anniversary of the championship and at the same time marking the beginning of a season that promises to be revolutionary. No more simple renderings or limited live streaming: Liberty Media has decided to focus on an unprecedented show, which will put the cars, drivers and sponsors at the centre of the scene, preparing the public in the best possible way for the arrival of the new challenges on the track.
An event that changes tradition
For years, the presentations of new cars have been key moments of the pre-season, with each team choosing to unveil its project on different dates, straddling the first weeks of February. However, the last few editions have been reduced to simple online revelations, with digital renderings that often left fans disappointed by the lack of spectacle. For 2025, Liberty Media has decided to change course, organizing a unique event that will group together in a single day the presentation of the single-seaters of all 10 teams, transforming it into a real opening ceremony of the season.
“Formula 1 will host its first season launch event at The O2 in London with all ten teams, their drivers and team principals, as well as world-class entertainment to kick off the sport’s 75th anniversary year. For the first time in Formula 1 history, all 10 teams – Alpine, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Haas, Kick Sauber, McLaren, Mercedes, Racing Bulls, Red Bull and Williams – their drivers and team principals will come together with fans for a special evening to launch the new season, reveal their 2025 liveries and mark the start of the sport’s 75th anniversary year.”
"This unprecedented event will take place on February 18, 2025 between 20.00pm and 22.00pm at The O2 in London and will be brought to life by creative visionary Brian Burke of BrianBurkeCreative, Stufish Entertainment Architects, DX7 Design and production company 1826. BrianBurkeCreative and this world-renowned team created the groundbreaking opening and closing ceremonies for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix.”
Where to buy tickets for the event
In addition to streaming, it will be possible to watch this show live. “Prices vary depending on location within the O2, from £58 to £113. These prices include booking fees (an additional £2,50 transaction fee per order will apply) and will go on sale at 10am on Friday 15th November at www.theo2.co.uk/F175live.”
Stefano Domenicali was very excited when he announced this news: “For the first time, we will bring together our fans, all 20 superstars of our sport and some very special guests to officially kick off our new season and mark our 75th year of racing. With 2025 shaping up to be a classic season after all the drama experienced so far in 2024, this is a fantastic opportunity for fans of all ages to experience the incredible entertainment that is Formula 1 up close.”
The value of the event for teams and sponsors
The decision to hold a collective event does not mean that the teams will miss out on the opportunity to promote their partners. On the contrary, the location of the O2 Arena in London will offer an exceptional showcase for the sponsors, with a capacity of up to 60.000 people and worldwide media coverage. Liberty Media has ensured that the contractual clauses with the teams' partners will be respected, guaranteeing dedicated moments for each sponsor during the presentation.
A celebration of the past and the future
2025 also marks the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, a milestone that will be celebrated with a grand event. Liberty Media intends to use this opportunity to launch the new season with renewed energy, capitalising on the hype generated by a single major presentation. Teams will be able to show their prototypes or demo cars, respecting agreements with sponsors but avoiding revealing technical details right away.
As the 2024 season draws to a close, fans are already looking ahead to 2025 with great anticipation. The announcement of the collective event has sparked great interest, with the expectation being to see not only the new liveries but also the first indications of the technical development of the cars. With the regulation changes coming in 2026, every detail will be scrutinised and analysed, and this event could offer a first glimpse of the teams' strategies for the final year of the current regulation cycle.
